Global power and the commoners’ dilemmas
A series of symbols scanned from the seminal 1970s graphic design textbook, The Symbol Sourcebook, by Henry Dreyfuss, and paired with new provocative titles.
The piece as two 6-foot tall posters was installed in the front windows at CityPOP Egleston, 3195 Washington Street in Jamaica Plain until May 2017, then were re-installed in the front windows of the artist-activist hub Make Shift Boston, 549 Columbus Avenue in the South End. Other 6-foot prints of this work have been exhibited at MassArt for the “Resistance Culture” group show, in the group show “Tremors” at Point Green Studio in Brooklyn, NY, and at Jameson & Thompson Fine Art Services in Jamaica Plain. A 12″ x 18″ poster version of this work along with two sequel zine projects, Bad Idea and Liberalism vs. Progressivism, were included in the group show “Shhh…” at the Arts + Literature Laboratory in Madison, WI.
